New Ambassador of Malta to the Kingdom of Sweden

On 28 March 2012, Mr. Martin Valentino presented to His Majesty Carl XVI Gustaf, the Letters of Credence accrediting him as the new non-resident Ambassador of Malta to the Kingdom of Sweden. The ceremony was held at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.


During a private audience after the presentation of credentials, H.M. Carl XVI Gustaf was interested to know about a number of issues relating to developments in Malta in the economic and social fields and the situation in the region. His Majesty augured that relations between Malta and Sweden will continue to be enhanced further. Honorary Consul of Malta in Stockholm, Dr. Clas Romander accompanied Ambassador Valentino to the Royal Palace. During his visit to Stockholm, Ambassador Valentino held bilateral meetings with high officials from the Swedish Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Justice during which bilateral, regional and EU affairs were discussed. Meetings were also held with the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Stockholm. Ambassador Valentino is also currently serving as Malta’s resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and international organizations in The Hague.
